Volunteer
The Rochester Education Foundation was founded on the idea that it should be easy to offer tangible help to Rochester city school students. At REF, we welcome your involvement in the programs we have underway or in those we're planning, and in building REF through fundraising.
How can you get involved? Call 271-5790 or e-mail us at info@rochestereducation.org if you are interested in any of the following:
Donate your energy, knowledge and experience to REF as a volunteer.
Our active volunteers make a huge difference in a tiny group like ours. Do you have experience in marketing, development, education, project management, evaluation, grant-writing, or fund-raising events? Are you a young person with more energy than experience? Please consider giving us a call!
Launch your own Give Back, Give Books event
Please contact us if you're interested in launching your own new book drive or fundraiser to support book purchases as part of our Give Back, Give Books program. We also encourage you to consider organizing a book-donation event for city school students. Local businesses and organizations have worked with REF to pair with a classroom, a school, or an entire grade to provide books for young people. You can donate the books for us to distribute, or work with us to set up a distribution opportunity for your group.
Support Spring for Music with instruments, fundraisers
We're happy to work with you if your group or company would like to stage an event to support Spring for Music. Events in the past have included concerts, dormitory events, and holiday parties.
Help with our Partnership Awards Dinner
We're seeking sponsors and volunteers to help with our Fifth Annual Partnership Awards Dinner planned for October 20, 2010. The event honors valued community partners of Rochester city school students. We invite organizations and corporations to contact us about sponsoring this high-visibility event. We welcome volunteers to help us make the event a success, and to help during the event, which honors some of the true (and generally unknown) heros and heroines in our community. Particularly needed: Experienced graphic artists, event organizers, and experienced program and advertising coordinators. Click here to learn more about our Fourth Annual Partnership Awards Dinner .
